According to authorities on Friday, a mother allegedly eloped with her daughter’s father-in-law.
According to the police complaint, Mamta (43), a mother of four, fled the house with Shailendra (46), a resident of the Civil Lines police station, while carrying cash, jewelry, and other valuables.
Sunil Kumar Singh, Mamta’s husband and a truck driver who frequently travels far from home, stated that he had a suspicion that his wife had been seeing Shailendra for around a year.
Singh, who lodged the charge against the two, claimed that “Mamta called Shailendra on April 11 and the two absconded together.”
Sachin, Mamta’s son, confirmed his father’s story by saying that when his father was away, his mother would regularly phone Shailendra and visit him at their house.
According to Dataganj Circle Officer (CO) KK Tiwari, they are looking for Mamta and Shailendra and would take appropriate action.
