Here is what we currently know regarding Samsung’s possible decision to continue rolling out One UI 7 today.

Samsung’s pause on the OneUI 7 update may be shorter than expected, as the Korean smartphone maker is rushing to bring the latest version of the update to its older Galaxy devices. Samsung had officially confirmed that the One UI 7 rollout had begun on April 7, but many Galaxy users have been waiting for the update in vain since then. Almost a week after the scheduled rollout date, several reports confirmed that Samsung had halted the One UI 7 update worldwide due to a serious bug found on some Galaxy S24 devices in Korea.

However, Samsung intends to resume the worldwide rollout of One UI 7 sooner than anticipated, if tipster Ice Universe on X (previously Twitter) is to be believed. According to the source, Galaxy S24 customers will begin receiving One UI 7 today, April 15.

Samsung told Android Authority on Monday that the “One UI 7 rollout schedule is being updated to ensure the best possible experience,” but we do not yet have confirmation from the company on when the official rollout will resume.

Additionally, there is still no clarity on whether the One UI 7 rollout on the Galaxy S24 will be specific to certain markets or if it will be a global update.

Why is One UI 7 rollout delayed?

Although Samsung has once again not provided an official explanation for the problem that caused the One UI 7 rollout to be paused, a number of sources indicate that there may have been a problem with battery depletion and unlocking phones on Exynos-powered Galaxy S24 smartphones in Korea.

Since then, the defect has been connected to a problem with the Samsung Secure Folder, but it is difficult to identify the precise issue at this point without an official explanation.

Why is One UI 7 significant?

Samsung first revealed One UI 7 at a convention in November, and the Galaxy S25 devices were the first to use it in January. Many have praised the latest version as the greatest smartphone software experience, particularly in view of Apple’s recent AI issues. A Now bar for managing music and notifications from the lock screen, a revamped user interface, crisper animations, quicker app launches, and several AI capabilities like AI Select, Writing Assist, and Audio Eraser are all included in One UI 7.
