Early on Saturday, a fire started in the Parade Ground area at the warehouse of a company that provided tenting supplies for the just finished Maha Kumbh, according to an official.
Water tenders were hurried to the scene, he continued, and work was being done to contain the fire.
There were no casualties reported.
According to Rahul, who works in a godown next to the warehouse where the fire started, he could hear cylinders exploding.
Prayagraj’s chief fire officer, Rajiv Kumar Pande,y said six water tenders had been deployed to bring the blaze under control. Water tenders from other places were also reaching the spot.
Logs and tent items were stored in the warehouse, he added.
